I'm an award-winning teacher, writer, and cultural critic based in San Francisco. My work on sex, art, gender, literature, and film has been read/seen/heard at the LA Times, Bookforum, Quartz, Los Angeles Review of Books, Publishers Weekly, American Prospect, the Times Higher Education (UK), the Village Voice, the Discovery Channel, Chicago Public Radio, BBC's "The World," The San Francisco Chronicle/ Examiner, The New York Public Library, and many other venues.
I have a PhD in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia, and I'm a former professor of literature at Yale and The New School (NYC). Most recently, I taught courses on Ulysses and on the #MeToo movement at Stanford.
